January 2013 – Since launching milia m over 12 years ago, the Beirut-based designer Milia Maroun has garnered a notable global reputation and a strong worldwide client base. Over the span of 22 collections, her clothing has been described, among other things, as “subverting expectations of the familiar” a mixture of contemporary designs and feminine accents, utilizing an imaginative interplay of transparency, folds and openings that wrap the body and sensuously suggest more than is actually revealed.
